Winners Announced for Maryland’s Business International Leadership Awards

Baltimore, March 9, 2004-- The World Trade Center Institute Awards Review Committee has
selected Maryland’s 8th Annual International Leadership Awards winners for the year 2003. 
Maryland’s 2003 International Leadership Award winners are: 

--         Brian Le Gette, Co-Founder and CEO and Tim Hodge, Jr., Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Government Affairs, of 180s, LLC
--          Bruce McIndoe, CEO, iJET Travel Risk Management, Inc.
--          Susan Ganz, CEO, Lion Brothers, Inc.
--          Marc Pritchard, President Procter & Gamble Personal Care and Cosmetics
--          Syng Man Rhee, Founder and Chairman of Rhee Brothers, Inc.
--          Rhett Ross, President of Teledyne Energy Systems
--          Mitch Herbets, President and CEO of Thales Communications, Inc.

The World Trade Center Institute annually presents Maryland’s International Business Leadership Awards to business champions from Maryland companies who have led their firm to new global heights. “Each international business champion was awarded by exemplifying the entrepreneurial spirit, determination, creativity and cultural sensitivity that the global marketplace demands,” said Gary Collins, Senior Vice President of Bank of America and member of the WTCI Review Committee.

The winners will be honored during Maryland’s 8th Annual International Business Leadership
Awards ceremony. Hosted by the World Trade Center Institute, M&T Bank and the Maryland
Department of Business and Economic Development, the ceremony will take place at RTKL’s
global headquarters in Baltimore on Wednesday evening, March 31.  “Choosing the top international champions from Maryland’s 150,000 companies is a somewhat daunting task,” said John Moran, Associate Dean at the Sellinger School of Loyola College and also a member of the WTCI Review Committee.  “After interviewing the nominees, the Review Committee determined that these top leaders are truly deserving recognition of this award,” he said.

The review committee is comprised of representatives from Bank of America, Miles &
Stockbridge PC, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development,
the Baltimore Export Assistance Center, Loyola College and the World Trade Center Institute,
as a non-voting member.  The other major award for the evening, Governor’s Leadership Award, will be presented from Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. to Robert J. Lawless, Chairman, President & C.E.O. of McCormick  & Company.   The Governor’s Leadership Award recognizes one leading citizen who epitomizes sustained, exemplary leadership efforts in support of Maryland's international relations.
