WTCI Announces 2008 Business Leadership Award Winners

Maryland’s Top International Business Leaders Recognized for Taking Companies to New Global Heights

BALTIMORE, February 13, 2008 -- The World Trade Center Institute proudly announces the seven winners of Maryland’s 2008 International Business Leadership Awards.  The coveted awards are given to company leaders who have demonstrated exceptional business leadership, determination, and creative strategy in international business. The winners were selected among a competitive roster of 80 business leaders and voted on by the International Business Leadership Awards Committee.

The 2008 award recipients include: Sheela Murthy, Founder and President of Murthy Law Firm, Lee Edwards, President and CEO of BP Solar, Pradman Kaul, President and CEO of Hughes Network System, Michael Derby, General Manager of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, Steve Dubin, CEO of Martek Biosciences Corporation, Robert Storey, President and CEO of Vapotherm, Inc., and Gerry Holthaus, President and CEO of Williams Scotsman Inc.

 “This group of honorees boasts great Maryland stories, tremendous success and impressive growth,” according to Gary Collins, Senior Vice President, Bank of America and Chairman of the Leadership Awards Committee.

Awarded for the past 11 years, the International Business Leadership Award has become widely recognized as one of the most prestigious honors in the Maryland business world.  The event is expected to draw more than 400 of Maryland’s top business leaders, including 75 Presidents and Chief Executive Officers, as well as senior government officials. The International Leadership Awards will be held at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore and has become a must attend among Maryland’s international business community.
