International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) – WTCI is the sole administrator within the State of Maryland for the U.S. Department of State’s IVLP. Annually, WTCI programs for more than 200 visitors from countries ranging from Lesotho to China and beyond. Visitors stay in the community from a half day to three days of programming with the objective of sharing best practices in a particular field. The program aims to increase mutual understanding and helps to shape the U.S. foreign relations through the concept of citizen diplomacy.
Community Connections – As one of the few selected organizations to participate in the USAID’s Community Connections program, WTCI has professional experience in hosting groups for up to three weeks. WTCI arranges action planning sessions for visitors from former Soviet Union republics with the objective of improving cooperation among key agencies in their countries. Visitors receive professional programming, home stays, cultural and community activities, site visits and much more.
USDA Library of Congress Open World – The Open World Program involves delegations of emerging Russian leaders. During a ten day trip, visitors examine how the U.S. private and public sectors collaborate in meeting social and civic needs. As their local host organization, WTCI plans and conducts the participants’ professional programs including meal arrangements and accommodation, and arranging cultural and social activities.
Private Sector & Foreign Embassies -- WTCI designs international exchange programs, inbound trade missions, and cultural and training programs for various government agencies, universities and private firms. For these programs, WTCI reaches to cultural and professional resources located throughout the Capitol Region. WTCI tailors the best professional meetings and cultural experiences to meet clients’ needs.
