Why GPS?

Today’s college students will be the next generation of world leaders. Many lack access to a vibrant and robust business network. Leveraging  WTCI’s breadth and expertise, the Global Pathways for Students program provides the knowledge and tools needed for college students to succeed in a diverse and increasingly competitive employment marketplace. Participants get an up-close and in-depth look at some of Maryland’s most innovative global businesses.

Nine two-hour on-site company visits

  • Insights about the working environment and culture of the organization
  • Advice about the interviewing/hiring process
  • Details about career journey of company leadership
  • Tour of the company facilities and interactive Q/A session

Supplemental components include:

  • Leveraging LinkedIn training session
  • Leadership and communication workshop
  • Washington D.C. site visit day
  • Access to select WTCI summer networking events and international business services
2018 GPS Program

Ideal Students

The World Trade Center Institute seeks a diverse group of college students from Greater Baltimore, who are globally oriented. The program is available for current sophomores, juniors, and seniors in college. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • An aptitude for high-level leadership
  • An educational trajectory that demonstrates achievement and potential
  • A professional or personal interest in international career fields
  • A record of significant knowledge and achievement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The willingness to make a commitment of their personal time to participate in the program

Duration

The 10-day program takes place at the end of May, from May 26th to June 5th, 2020.
