Bowe is President & CEO of Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC. In his over 32 years at Ellicott, he has held the positions of President, Treasurer, Vice President, General Manager, and member of the Board of Directors. In 1993 Bowe initiated a leveraged buy-out of Ellicott from the estates of its former owners. In 2009 he was Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for Maryland in manufacturing; and was selected by the Western Dredging Association as “Dredger of the Year.” In 2014 he received OPIC’s inaugural Small Business “Impact Award” for Ellicott’s work in Iraq. Also in 2014, he was named Baltimore’s Smart CEO of the year.
Bowe is a board member of the World Trade Center Institute, and past president of the Harvard Business School Club of Maryland. He has served as director for Collections Marketing Center, Inc. a SaaS company for web-based debt collections, IHC Holland, Bank Maryland Corporation, Maryland-Business Center China, and Baltimore’s Downtown Sailing Center. He is past chairman of the Small Business Exporters’ Association, a member of the American Bureau of Shipping, and on the advisory board of World Dredging Magazine.
