“The EDGE program brought together a wildly diverse, fascinating, and world-class group of people.  I was humbled and appreciative to observe and learn from the program’s distinguished speakers, passionate administrators, WTCI Board Members, and my peers within our cohort.  Throughout the program I sought to bring the sessions back with me to Prometric and contribute to growing a global enterprise that helps millions of people worldwide gain the test results they need to become the licensed and certified people we depend on in our communities for safe medical care, ethical financial services, quality teaching in our schools, sound architecture across the Baltimore skyline, and many other professions represented across the EDGE program, in Baltimore, and the global leaders in markets we seek to develop bonds. The takeaway I can most clearly identify that has helped me lead better and produce a higher level of success in proposal development and media relations is to embrace the stories people have to tell.  They are meaningful and many times represent the messages closest to a person’s motives for doing business or completing a project in the first place.  One such example comes to mind.  Ron Shapiro’s presentation helped me see how taking time to deeply understand a person and the assets involved in negotiations can lead to creative solutions where both parties gain.  This translated to my work for Prometric when I communicated Ron’s ideas to my team and we began to ask more probing questions of our sales team as to what our clients truly find valuable.  We applied these more in depth values and developed more tailored proposal content and, thus far, we are seeing positive results retaining existing partnerships and earning the trust of new clients.”
