Group Creative Director, Copy
With an advertising degree from Michigan State University, hat in hand, and a pretty pathetic resume, I set out for New York City and somehow landed my first gig at the legendary Wells, Rich, Greene working on Procter & Gamble’s Gain Laundry Detergent and Olay (Oil of Olay if you’re of a certain age). This, no doubt, explains my sunshine-fresh scent and radiant skin.
From there, like pretty much every other ad guy/gal, I moved to Charm City. Twenty years later, I’m still here and still digging it. I’ve worked for a few agencies, most notably Carton Donofrio Partners, where I told the stories of everything from BGE to The National Aquarium to Air Products and Chemicals, and a fair amount of dot.bombs. For the past 13 years I’ve been at Planit, helping shape our unique branding process and leading our team of really, really talented and nice creatives.
While my title says Creative Director, I’m still very much a copywriter by trade. And while I’m not yet convinced that no one reads copy, I’m both humbled and inspired by how, when, and where they engage with it.
