About the Maryland International Business Leadership Awards

The Maryland International Business Leadership Awards is the region’s premier business awards event. Each year we receive between 50-100 nominations, and WTCI staff with the help of our selection committee  select 5-7 winners that represent the diverse cultures, genders, industries, and geography of Maryland. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, this year’s event will be held virtually – Join us on September 30th from 4pm- 5:15pm as we celebrate Maryland companies making a global impact. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the 2020 Maryland International Business Leadership Awards were held virtually on September 30th 2020. Nearly 400 of Maryland’s top international leaders tuned in to learn which companies are driving growth in Maryland.

The 2020 Governor’s International Leadership Award Winner Freeman Hrabowski first embraced the mantle of leadership as a child during the civil rights movement. From there he never stopped, earning countless accolades along the way including being recognized as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people, a top 10 university president, and for nearly 30 years, the leader of the Nation’s #1 up and coming university.
