Lindsay Meyer

For thirty years, Ms. Meyer has provided International Trade and Customs advice at Venable where she heads Venable’s International Trade Practice based in Washington, D.C. Ms. Meyer concentrates on all aspects of cross-border trade matters.

She regularly advises companies, organizations and individuals on their compliance with import and export control laws and regulations, and appears before numerous regulatory authorities, such as the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), International Trade Commission (ITC), Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and the U.S. Court of International Trade. She is also co-Chair of Venable’s FCPA and Anti-Corruption Practice.

She is a former Co-Managing Partner of the firm and serves on the Venable Board and Executive Committee. Ms. Meyer is in her fifth year serving as President of the Venable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) providing grants of charitable funds to worthy organizations in the communities in which Venable maintains offices.

Ms. Meyer is also active in business and trade associations related to her profession. She served four terms as Chair of the International Trade and Customs Committee for the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice; she presently serves on the advising board of the World Trade Center Institute; is a member of the American Association of Exporters and Importers, and is serving in her fourth term on the Washington District Export Council under the appointment of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce. She is also a licensed U.S. Customs Broker.

In her free time, she enjoys skiing, scuba diving and travelling the globe with her husband and three children.
